TV producer and filmmaker Ekta Kapoor has praised veteran Bollywood actors Jeetendra, Dharmendra, and contemporary star Akshay Kumar, saying their discipline, consistency, and work ethic have played a major role in keeping the Hindi film industry financially strong and creatively active.
In a social media post, Ekta Kapoor shared pictures of Jeetendra and Akshay Kumar together at an event, as well as a photo of herself with Akshay.
She highlighted the strong similarity in work ethic between her father Jeetendra and Akshay Kumar, noting that both actors are highly disciplined and maintain a deep respect for producers and the filmmaking process.
She wrote that these qualities help sustain the “commerce” of the film industry by ensuring steady work opportunities for producers and crews.
According to her, cinema does not thrive on occasional big projects alone but requires actors who work regularly and keep production activity constant, allowing the entire industry ecosystem to function.
Ekta Kapoor also emphasized that the contribution of these actors is often underappreciated. She said that frequent participation in films ensures job creation across all levels of production, benefiting both large and mid-sized producers. She added that Akshay Kumar’s high output, including multiple films a year, reflects this model of sustaining industry growth.
In her post, she thanked Akshay Kumar for consistently supporting filmmakers and giving opportunities to a wide range of producers. She referred to him affectionately while praising his professionalism and dedication.
Akshay Kumar, who has worked in the Hindi film industry for over three decades, remains one of its busiest actors. He has starred in several successful films, including Hera Pheri, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Kesari, Airlift, and Khiladi, and continues to have multiple projects in production.
Jeetendra, now 83, has had a career spanning more than six decades and is known for hit films such as Himmatwala, Tohfa, Caravan, and Parichay. He is often referred to as Bollywood’s “Jumping Jack” due to his energetic screen presence.
Veteran actor Dharmendra, who passed away in November 2025 at the age of 89, was also acknowledged for his long and influential career spanning over six decades.
Known for classics like Sholay and Chupke Chupke, as well as recent films like Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, he remains one of Hindi cinema’s most respected figures.
Overall, Ekta Kapoor’s statement highlighted how consistent, hardworking actors have helped maintain Bollywood’s economic stability and long-term growth. (IANS)
