TURA, May 8: Akashvani (AIR) Tura, in collaboration with Doordarshan Kendra (DDK), organised a walkathon on Friday to commemorate 90 years of All India Radio’s service to the nation.
The event, celebrating the broadcaster’s legacy from 1936 to 2026, was flagged off by Ferdinand Marak, Assistant Director (Programme) at Akashvani Tura, in the presence of DDK Tura programme executives TK Marak and Kamal Koch.
Nearly 100 participants took part in the 3.5-kilometre walk. The route began at the Akashvani Tura office, proceeded to Najing Bazar, and returned to the starting point.
The programme concluded with the distribution of medals and certificates to the participants.
