Netflix has confirmed that the universe of Money Heist (La Casa de Papel) will continue to expand, nearly five years after the original series ended in 2021.
The streaming platform released a teaser titled “The world of ‘Money Heist’ continues,” signalling that new stories are planned within the franchise.
The announcement was also shared on the official La Casa de Papel social media account, featuring a red-and-black themed post and the message: “El Bella Ciao SIGUE sonando. El universo de ‘La casa de papel’ continua,” meaning “Bella Ciao is still playing. The world of Money Heist continues.”
The reference to the iconic anthem Bella Ciao reflects the show’s enduring cultural impact.
The update comes ahead of the release of Berlin and the Lady with the Ermine, the second season of the prequel series Berlin, which focuses on the character Berlin and is scheduled to premiere globally on May 15, 2026.
The spin-off continues to expand the backstory of one of the franchise’s most popular figures.
Created by Álex Pina, Money Heist became one of Netflix’s biggest international successes, gaining massive global popularity for its gripping heist narrative and emotional storytelling.
Its signature elements—red jumpsuits, Dalí masks, and the song Bella Ciao—became worldwide pop culture symbols.
While Netflix has not confirmed specific new spin-offs, speculation continues about future projects, including possible police-focused stories or extensions involving central characters like the Professor. (ANI)
