London, May 11: Arsenal moved a significant step closer towards ending their long wait for the Premier League title after a dramatic 1-0 victory against West Ham United at the London Stadium, with Leandro Trossard’s late strike proving decisive in a tense encounter on Sunday.
The visitors had dominated possession for large spells but were repeatedly frustrated by a determined West Ham side fighting to stay clear of the relegation zone. Arsenal finally found the breakthrough in the 83rd minute when Trossard’s effort took a crucial deflection off Tomas Soucek before finding the back of the net.
Trossard had looked lively throughout the contest and was unlucky earlier in the first half when he struck the woodwork twice in quick succession. (AP)
