NHAI files fresh report in HC on NH-6 repair work

SHILLONG, May 14: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has submitted a fresh status report before the High Court of Meghalaya regarding the ongoing construction and repair works on the Jowai–Ratacherra section of NH-6.
The status report tendered on Thursday listed the steps taken by the NHAI with respect to the construction of work carried out on the Jowai-Ratacherra section of NH-6. It also listed the status of the repair work at Byndihati, Tongseng and Ratacherra, as sought for earlier by Amicus Curiae S. Panthi.
The report also states that the slope stabilisation work has been awarded to a third contractor and work is presently ongoing.
The counsel appearing for the NHAI sought further time of two weeks while the Amicus Curiae sought time to go through the said status report.
The case will be heard again on June 8.
