Wellington, May 18: The “Flying Kiwis”, a passionate group of New Zealand football fans spread across the world, are preparing once again to follow their national team at the FIFA World Cup.
Formed in 2009 during New Zealand’s successful qualification campaign for the 2010 World Cup, the group began when university student Matt Fejos bought tickets for friends and created banners and coveralls to support the team against Bahrain.Since then, the supporters’ group has travelled across the globe, backing New Zealand at major tournaments and using football as a way to connect with people from different cultures.
