SHILLONG, May 21: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong has been awarded accreditation by AACSB International, placing it among the world’s top business schools.
The accreditation puts IIM Shillong in an elite category, as less than six per cent of business schools globally have earned this recognition. With this achievement, IIM Shillong joins approximately 30 AACSB-accredited institutions in India and becomes one of only a few IIMs to hold the status.
The recognition followed a rigorous peer-review process that evaluated the institute’s teaching quality, research, curriculum, and societal impact.
Prof Naliniprava Tripathy said the accreditation reflects the collective efforts of the IIM Shillong community. “We remain committed to fulfilling our strategic vision and AACSB commitments over the next six years while continuously strengthening the Institute’s global reputation,” she said.
The institute noted that the accreditation will expand opportunities for international collaborations, academic partnerships, and student exchange programmes.
Established in 2007, IIM Shillong has established itself as one of the leading institutions for sustainability-oriented management education. AACSB formally confirmed the accreditation in its official global announcement released this year.
