SHILLONG, May 23: The Patharkhmah Civil Sub-Division in Ri-Bhoi district on Thursday launched ‘TREILANG 2026’, an inter-village development initiative aimed at assessing and monitoring developmental progress across villages in the sub-division.
The programme was launched at Patharkhmah Model Degree College in the presence of government officials, village leaders, community representatives and residents. Ri-Bhoi Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal attended the event as the chief guest and formally inaugurated the initiative.
According to officials, the programme will evaluate villages on the implementation of government schemes, along with indicators related to sports, culture, education, environment, livelihoods and innovation through an evidence-based assessment process.
Addressing the gathering, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Patharkhmah, Chaitanya Awasthi said the initiative would involve government records, field verification, geo-tagged evidence and community feedback to assess the effectiveness of development programmes and public service delivery at the grassroots level.

Officials said participating villages would receive village report cards highlighting strengths, gaps, and areas requiring improvement.
The initiative will cover sectors including MGNREGA, PMAY-G, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat, Swachh Bharat Mission, Aadhaar saturation, agriculture, horticulture, social welfare, soil and water conservation, and livelihood schemes under CM Elevate and FOCUS.
