NONGPOH, May 24: An ambulance (ML01A0119) plunged into a roadside drain on Sunday after being struck by a Hyundai i20 (AS01GG2500) along National Highway-6 (NH-6) in Nongpoh.
The incident occurred around 2 pm as the i20 was heading toward Shillong from Guwahati.
The driver of the car reportedly lost control, allegedly due to overspeeding, and rammed into the parked ambulance.
However, there were no injuries reported as the ambulance was unoccupied at the time, and the driver of the i20 escaped unhurt. Both vehicles sustained damage in the collision.
Nongpoh police have, meanwhile, initiated an investigation into the accident, specifically focusing on the allegations of excessive speed.
