AITA official reaffirms commitment to boost tennis in Northeast

Shillong, May 30: The development of tennis in the Northeast took centre stage as the Meghalaya Tennis Association (MTA) felicitated All India Tennis Association (AITA) Joint Secretary Sujit Roy during a special programme held at Shillong Club.
Roy, who is also the Secretary of the Tripura Tennis Association, attended the event along with officials from the Tripura Tennis Association and the Tripura Olympic Association. The programme brought together office-bearers and members of the Meghalaya Tennis Association, highlighting the growing cooperation among sporting bodies in the region.Welcoming the guests, MTA General Secretary Vicky Vadera felicitated Roy and acknowledged his contribution to the sport. During the interaction, Roy reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening tennis across the Northeast.He said that one of his key priorities as AITA Joint Secretary would be to improve tennis infrastructure, create more opportunities for young players and encourage greater participation in the sport throughout the region.The gathering also featured discussions on the future growth of tennis in the Northeast, with participants stressing the importance of collaboration among state associations to further develop the sport.
Senior officials and members of the Meghalaya Tennis Association were present on the occasion. MTA also expressed its appreciation to Roy and the visiting dignitaries for their continued support towards the promotion and development of tennis in the region.
