The Delhi High Court has granted an interim injunction to Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan, restraining unauthorised use of his name, image, voice and other personality attributes.
Justice Jyoti Singh barred entities from exploiting his identity through AI-generated content, deepfakes, chatbots, face morphing and unauthorised merchandise.
The court also ordered the removal of infringing online content, including misleading, abusive and pornographic material falsely linked to the actor, within 36 hours.
It held that Dhawan’s personality and publicity rights deserve protection and that continued misuse could cause irreparable harm to his reputation. (IANS)
