India beat South Korea 4-1 in men’s U-18 Asia Cup

Kakamigahara (Japan), June 1: Captain Ketan Kushwaha scored a brace as the Indian men’s hockey team registered a dominant 4-1 victory against South Korea in their third Pool A match of U-18 Asia Cup here on Monday.
Kushwaha scored in the third and 36th minutes, Varinder Singh struck in the fifth minute, and Shahrukh Ali sounded the board in the 54th minute for India.
South Korean captain Yun Jaehyeok (21st) scored his team’s only goal by successfully converting a penalty corner to reduce the deficit.
The win put India level on six points with South Korea and Japan.
Top two teams from each of the two pools will qualify for the semi-finals.
India will next face Chinese Taipei on June 3 in their final Pool A match. (PTI)
