DC dismisses claims of fuel, LPG shortage

SHILLONG, June 2: The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills, has dismissed social media reports claiming a shortage and price hike of petrol, diesel, and LPG, urging the public not to engage in panic buying.
In a statement issued here, the administration confirmed that the fuel and LPG supply chain is being closely monitored to ensure smooth distribution across the district. Citizens have been advised to ignore unverified information and refrain from hoarding essential supplies.
The district administration warned that strict action will be taken against individuals found spreading false information or rumours intended to cause public panic.
