Two wanted bike thieves arrested

SHILLONG, June 2: The Pasteur Beat House Special Party on Tuesday apprehended two wanted bike thieves from the Polo area in connection with a series of motorcycle thefts across Shillong.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Cornelius Mukhim, alias Bryan (20), of Mawlai Mawroh, Shillong, and Meshanki Lamare (21), of Sapai, Jowai.
Police said that the duo was involved in stealing motorcycles from the city and transporting them to the Bangladesh border.
During the operation, police recovered several tools suspected to be used for the thefts, including a 9-piece Torx key set, a 9-piece Allen key set, wire strippers and a screwdriver.
Additionally, Rs 19,500 in cash, a metal gun lighter and two sling bags were seized from their possession.
The suspects are scheduled to be produced in court on Wednesday.
