WASHINGTON, June 7: Chennai-born technology executive Sriram Krishnan has announced that he will step down as Senior Policy Adviser for Artificial Intelligence at the White House at the end of June.
Krishnan, a key architect of US President Donald Trump’s AI agenda, played a major role in shaping the administration’s AI Action Plan and National AI Policy Framework.
In a post on X, he said he would take a short break before focusing on initiatives aimed at addressing major AI challenges facing the United States and its allies.
During his 18-month tenure, he also helped craft policies promoting AI innovation, expanding data-centre infrastructure and limiting state-level regulation of the technology.
Krishnan previously worked at Microsoft, Facebook and Twitter, and later served as a partner at Andreessen Horowitz.
He graduated from SRM University in Chennai before moving to the United States. (PTI)
