Shillong, June 9: The Meghalaya State Olympic Association (MSOA) will organise the 7th edition of the Olympic Day 10K Run on June 27 as part of the Olympic Day celebrations.
The event will be open to both men and women aged 17 years and above and will follow the same route that was used for last year’s race.
To encourage participation, the organisers have announced cash prizes for the top finishers. The winner will receive Rs 5,000, while the second and third-placed runners will be awarded Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively. In addition, five consolation prizes of Rs 500 each will also be presented.
Special gifts will be awarded to participants above 55 years of age who successfully complete the race.
The organisers have also arranged refreshments for all runners after the event. Free T-shirts will be distributed on the day of the run on a first-come, first-served basis.Registration for the event is free of cost. Interested participants can submit their entries at the MSOA office located at the JN Stadium between 2 pm and 5 pm. The last date for registration is June 19.
