Candlelight vigil in Shillong today for Naga victims

SHILLONG, June 12: A candlelight vigil will be held at Kyndai Lad on Saturday to honour the memory of six Naga civilians who recently lost their lives in Manipur.
Organised by the Naga Elders Forum Shillong (NEFS), the event will take place from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The forum stated that the gathering is intended to express solidarity with the bereaved families and offer prayers for peace and unity.
Members of the Naga community, civil society organisations and students are expected to participate in the solemn event.
Meanwhile, the East Khasi Hills district administration has directed sector magistrates of the Sadar area to coordinate with the Superintendent of Police to ensure law and order.
The administration stated that necessary measures are being put in place to ensure the peaceful conduct of the programme.
