Conrad mourns Rana’s death

SHILLONG, June 12: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Friday expressed deep sorrow over the untimely demise of Jaspal Rana, describing him as one of the country’s finest sporting icons.
Sangma said Rana’s extraordinary achievements brought immense pride to the nation, while his mentorship inspired countless young athletes to dream bigger and strive for excellence in sports.
The Meghalaya State Olympic Association and the Shooting Association of Meghalaya also expressed their sorrow over Rana’s untimely death and extend their deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, the National Rifle Association of India, and the Indian shooting community.
