Actor Dia Mirza and writer-director Tahira Kashyap have praised Imtiaz Ali’s latest film, Main Vaapas Aaunga, describing it as a moving and powerful cinematic experience.
Released in theatres on Friday, the film stars Sharvari, Vedang Raina, Diljit Dosanjh and Naseeruddin Shah. Set against the backdrop of Partition-era migration, it traces a love story spanning decades, linking the past and present through memories of an enduring romance.
Dia Mirza shared her appreciation on Instagram, calling the film one of the most poignant and compelling love stories in recent times.
She thanked Imtiaz Ali for the experience and praised the performances of the lead cast, particularly Naseeruddin Shah, whom she described as deeply affecting.
Tahira Kashyap also lauded the film, saying every frame felt authentic and emotionally rich. She praised Shah’s performance for reminding her of her grandfather, while describing Sharvari’s portrayal of Jiya as magical.
Kashyap also commended Vedang Raina and Diljit Dosanjh for their performances and hailed A. R. Rahman’s music as the soul of the film. She urged audiences to watch what she called a classic love story that would stay with viewers long after it ends. (PTI)
