Hollywood actor Timothee Chalamet is set to make his animation film debut with a new alien-themed project, Not Alone, where he will feature alongside Selena Gomez. The actor will voice the character of Joe, an introverted rocket mechanic who lives a quiet life alone, with Gomez featuring as Fran, a brilliant astro-botanist who is developing the world’s first-ever plant-fueled rocket. The announcement was made at Annecy Animation Festival, according to the entertainment news outlet Variety. The film is set to release in April 2027 and is produced under Illumination and distributed by Universal Pictures. It is directed by Jonathan del Val alongside Claire Dodgson and Eric Guillon. (PTI)
Emraan Hashmi to feature in ROOH
Actor Emraan Hashmi is set to return to the horror genre with his next film, titled ROOH. The actor, who has previously featured in several horror films, including Raaz 3 and Ek Thi Daayan, among others, shared the news with a post on his Instagram handle on Tuesday. It featured the film’s teaser, set against the backdrop of forest visuals and a girl levitating. It ended with a shot of Hashmi. The film is directed by Mayank Sharma, known for directing the Breathe series and is set to release in 2027. (PTI)
Jenna Ortega plays solar powered artificial robot in Klara and the Sun
The first trailer for Taika Waititi’s dystopian sci-fi film Klara and the Sun, featuring stars Jenna Ortega, Amy Adams and Natasha Lyonne, has been released. The film is based on the New York Times bestseller by Kazuo Ishiguro and follows the story of Klara (Ortega), a robot designed to prevent loneliness. A mother (Adams) buys the robot for her daughter Josie (Mia Tharia), a girl who suffers from a mysterious illness. Aran Murphy and Steve Buscemi round out the cast of the film. As per the trailer, the movie features Jenna Ortega as an artificial robot who has been bought by a family. It is directed by Taika Waititi and is slated to release in theatres on October 23. Eetha teaser unveiled days after leak, Shraddha plays Lavani icon Vithabai
The makers of Eetha on Tuesday unveiled the teaser of the upcoming biographical drama starring Shraddha Kapoor as legendary Marathi Lavani artist Vithabai Narayangaonkar. Produced by Maddock Films and Kathputli Creations, the film is directed by Laxman Utekar, known for hits such as Luka Chuppi, Mimi and Chhaava. The teaser offers a glimpse into the life of Vithabai Narayangaonkar, one of Maharashtra’s most revered Lavani and Tamasha artists whose performances captivated audiences for decades. Eetha reunites Kapoor with producer Dinesh Vijan after the success of the Stree franchise. The movie is scheduled to be released in cinemas on August 28. (PTI)
