SHILLONG, June 28: The NETRA Foundation, in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), recently conducted a 10-day national orientation programme titled “Know Your Northeast” to discuss regional development.
Held virtually from June 15 to 26, the event drew 105 participants, including academics, researchers, policymakers, and students from across the country. The sessions focused on the socio-economic, political, environmental, and cultural dimensions of Northeast India.
RGU Vice-Chancellor Prof SK Nayak inaugurated the programme, noting the region’s vast natural resources and cultural diversity. He called for more evidence-based research to promote sustainable and inclusive growth.
Throughout the programme, experts from national institutions led discussions on agriculture, entrepreneurship, tourism, health, infrastructure, border management, and climate change. The event concluded with an interactive valedictory session where participants were awarded e-certificates.
