Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has reportedly received a fresh extortion threat of Rs 20 crore from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, months after gunshots were fired outside his Juhu residence in Mumbai.
According to reports, the threat came through a 90-second audio clip sent to his staff, warning that if the money was not paid, Shetty would be the next target.
The message allegedly claimed that the earlier firing at his home in February 2026 was only a “trailer” and threatened further violence.
Police suspect the voice in the clip belongs to Shubham Lonkar, an associate of the Bishnoi gang linked to the 2024 killing of politician Baba Siddiqui.
Shetty’s staff has handed over the audio to Mumbai Police, and the Crime Branch has sent it for forensic analysis to verify its authenticity.
Earlier, five rounds were fired outside Shetty’s residence, with the Bishnoi gang claiming responsibility.
One accused was arrested, while others remain absconding.
A charge sheet has already been filed against 15 individuals in the case. (IANS)
