Man killed in hit-and-run, EJH police seek identification help

KHLIEHRIAT, June 30: An unidentified man was killed in a hit-and-run accident at Pamchyndai, Rymbai village, East Jaintia Hills, on June 27, prompting the district police to appeal for public assistance to identify him. An investigation is currently under way to trace the vehicle and driver involved in the case.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 pm. A team from the Ladrymbai Outpost responded to the scene and recovered the body of the unidentified man from the road. Following legal formalities, the body was moved to the Khliehriat Civil Hospital mortuary, where it remains pending identification and claim by relatives.
Police have urged anyone with information regarding the victim’s identity to contact the Ladrymbai Outpost or the nearest police station.
