Guwahati Airport commences international flight operations from Terminal 2

GUWAHATI, July 2: The Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati on Thursday commenced international flight operations from Terminal 2, marking a significant milestone in the airport’s journey.

Official sources informed that the first international departure from Terminal 2 was the Guwahati–Paro flight, while the first international arrival was from Singapore.

The occasion was commemorated with a traditional Assamese welcome, including gamosa felicitation, lamp lighting, cake cutting, sapling distribution and welcome drinks for arriving passengers.

The ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including CISF, customs, immigration, BCAS, airline representatives and airport teams, celebrating a new chapter in international connectivity for the region.

“This milestone strengthens global connectivity while reaffirming our commitment to seamless operations and an enhanced passenger experience,” an official at the airport said.
