Texas, July 11: The FIFA World Cup has given travelling fans plenty to remember in North America, from packed stadiums and warm hospitality to unforgettable sightseeing. But for one England supporter, it was a trip to a Texas supermarket that turned into an unexpected highlight.
Oliver Henry, who has been travelling across the United States to follow England’s World Cup campaign, was left stunned by the enormous watermelons on display at an H-E-B supermarket in Texas.
Sharing his experience on social media, Henry revealed that he had visited the popular grocery chain after receiving recommendations from locals.
“OK HEB was good. Shout out to whoever said to go here, they have a Texan BBQ place inside,” he wrote. “And look at the size of the watermelons. I think I have big hands but was blown away by the size of it.”
Henry has documented his World Cup journey across the United States throughout the tournament, visiting several iconic locations, including the White House, where he also had the opportunity to pose for a photograph with US President Donald Trump. While football has remained the centrepiece of his trip, everyday experiences have also left a lasting impression.
