Chennai, July 13: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Monday brought the curtain down on their long and successful association with head coach Stephen Fleming, with both sides mutually agreeing to part ways following what the franchise described as “open and honest discussions”.
Fleming, who joined CSK as a player during the inaugural Indian Premier League (IPL) season in 2008 before taking over as head coach in 2009, leaves after an 18-year association that helped shape one of the league’s most successful franchises.
Under Fleming’s guidance, CSK won five IPL titles, two Champions League T20 crowns, reached a record 12 IPL playoffs and featured in 10 finals.
Alongside former captain MS Dhoni, he played a key role in building the franchise’s reputation for consistency and success. (Agencies)
