Panaliar gets sports infra boost

Jowai, July 13: Panaliar village on Sunday inaugurated its newly constructed Indoor Sports Games Complex at Kperlyngktuiñ Parliar, with Meghalaya Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Wailadmiki Shylla formally opening the facility.
The inaugural programme was attended by Assistant Director of Sports and Youth Affairs Khroobok Passah as the guest of honour, along with village leaders and residents.
Addressing the gathering, Shylla said the new complex would provide local youth with better opportunities to develop their sporting talent.
He also assured that efforts were underway to resolve the village’s boundary issue with the MCH and stressed the need for continued cooperation between the village and the government to implement development projects.
The minister also announced Rs 10 lakh towards the improvement of the indoor hall and recalled his earlier support in upgrading the village football ground.
Earlier, Samehi Laloo outlined the journey of constructing the facility, acknowledging financial assistance from Rajya Sabha MP Dr Wanweiroy Kharlukhi, the Governor’s Office, Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar and local MLA Wailadmiki Shylla.
