District open badminton meet from July 28

Shillong, July 16: The East Khasi Hills District Badminton Association (EKHDBA) will organise the 10th East Khasi Hills District Open Badminton Championship 2026 from July 28 to 30 at the Glades Sports Arena, Mawlai Mawroh, providing a competitive platform for shuttlers across multiple age groups in the district.
The three-day championship will feature competitions in men’s and women’s singles and doubles, along with age-group events in the Under-19, Under-17, Under-15 and Under-13 categories for both boys and girls.
The association has stipulated that participants must produce the necessary documents, including a birth certificate, Aadhaar card, EPIC (Voter ID) or a residential certificate issued by the Headman, depending on the category, to establish their eligibility. Players must also satisfy the prescribed date-of-birth criteria, with the Under-19 category open to those born on or after January 1, 2008, Under-17 from January 1, 2010, Under-15 from January 1, 2012, and Under-13 from January 1, 2014.
Entries will be accepted only through WhatsApp or email and may be submitted to General Secretary Balarina Syiem or Aibor Ranee. The last date for submission of entries is July 21.
