Shillong, July 18: Geetali, a socio-cultural organisation based in Laban, successfully organised the Late Partha Sarati Dutta Memorial Carrom Competition at the Harisabha Community Hall, Laban, from July 15, culminating with the finals and prize distribution ceremony on Saturday.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation, with 44 players competing in the singles category and 10 teams taking part in the doubles event.In the singles competition, K. Lyngdoh emerged champion, while D. Sewa finished runner-up. In the doubles category, Jaiaw Carrom Club claimed the title, with Ryntilang Carrom Club securing the runners-up trophy.A special award was presented to Jayanta Das in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the promotion and development of the sport over the years.
