Kitkupar Nongsiej from Meghalaya has brought laurels to India by winning three Gold medals, two Bronze medals and a scholarship at the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) 2026, held in Las Vegas.
According to a statement here, Kitkupar, who represented India among participants from over 70 nations, secured two Gold and two Bronze medals across various vocal categories.
He earned his third Gold medal for finishing in the top five of the ‘Vocalist of the World’ category, an elite recognition for the competition’s most outstanding singers.
In addition to the medals, the international panel of judges awarded Kitkupar the First Place Scholarship in recognition of his artistic potential. The scholarship will provide him with opportunities for advanced training and global exposure.
