Outfit extends heartiest Christmas, New Year greetings to people

TURA: The Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) has said that it has no intention of harming innocent civilians or to ruin the festive mood of the people in the run up to the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the biggest festival of the State.
Refuting the claims of East Garo Hills Superintendent of Police Davies Nestell Marak that it had intended to carry out multiple blasts in three different locations of Williamnagar, joint publicity secretary of the outfit, Garo Mandei Ch Marak, questioned in a statement why police was unable to recover even a single bomb during a search if the claims were real.
Referring to the recent assault by policemen on three teenagers near Circuit House in Tura, Marak said that it was the police who had assaulted innocent teens while they were on their way for Christmas shopping and attempted to frame them as militants.
“This is the true colour of Meghalaya Police. It (blast claim) was just a conspiracy hatched against us,” he said while extending warm wishes to the people of the State for Christmas and New Year.
