Kolkata: Jailed Rajya Sabha member Kunal Ghosh on Monday told a city court that he has fresh evidence against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee that she was one of the ‘biggest beneficiaries’ in the Saradha chit fund scam.
Suspended Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh said in the room of Judge Aravind Mishra while being produced in the City Sessions Court in a case of Saradha chit fund scam.
He told the court that he has fresh evidence to prove that Ms Banerjee and TMC national general secretary Mukul Roy, a former Railway minister, had received maximum benefits fromSaradha Group of companies.
He pleaded that he be allowed to give details to the CBI, which is probing the multi-crore rupees scam that cheated some 2 millions investors across the country.
Ghosh, who has been expelled by the TMC, demanded that Ms Banerjee be questioned in his presence.
He also alleged discrimination in treatment of Saradha accused saying those who were helping the CBI to unravel the truth treated badly and those who were trying to obstacle the proceeding were given nice treatment.
His reference was obviously against the two TMC leaders Madan Mitra and Srinjoy Bose. Both Mr Madan Mitra and Rajha Sabha MP Srinjoy Bose were being treated at SSKM Hospital and Mr Ghosh was languishing in jail.
“Mamata Banerjee is the biggest beneficiary. She is holding party workers’ meetings to save herself,” Mr Ghosh said and demanded for a joint questioning by the CBI in the scam.
The suspended MP was taken into the court in connection with a case of salary default in Channel 10 news channel, where he was the CEO.
The court, however, did not give any order in the fresh allegation. (UNI)
