Shillong: The possibility of killing of jailbreak mastermind Fullmoon Dhar in a fake encounter has gained ground with Investigating Officer KM Pohshna mentioning in the seizure list that Dhar was alive when he landed up in police custody.

While deposing before the jailbreak inquiry commission on Saturday, Pohshna, in the seizure list, stated that he had seen Dhar lying on the ground in an injured condition.

“He (Dhar) was holding a gun in his right hand,” the investigating officer said in the seizure list.

However, when asked why the police had not called for the ambulance, Pohshna replied that MK Singh, the former Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police (SP), who was leading the police team, had already called for an inquest by the Magistrate.

CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing, while reacting to the revelation by Pohshna, said that it was very shocking that the SP had called for an inquest even when the person was alive.

Kharshiing also alleged that the police had attempted to tamper with the FIR, while adding that the inquiry commission had earlier asked the Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner to provide the original copy of the FIR.

“We got the certified copy of the FIR submitted to the inquiry commission by the DC. We found that there were some disparities in the FIR provided by the DC and the original FIR,” the CSWO president said.

Meanwhile, she also informed that in the seizure list, the investigating officer had mentioned about some markings on the gun which was seized from Dhar.

“But strangely the Forensic report did not mention any markings on the gun,” she added.

The hearing by the inquiry commission would continue on Sunday.
