SHILLONG: The State Government is waiting for the constitution of the expert group by the Ministry of Rural Development to examine the new BPL list prepared on the basis of the Socio-Economic Caste Census.

“The new BPL list has already been uploaded in the website of the department. The list now will have to be examined by the expert group constituted by the Ministry,” Community and Rural Development Minister Prestone Tynsong said on Wednesday. He said the expert group would examine the list prepared by the State Government meticulously.

“The list approved by the expert group will be the final one,” the Community and Rural Development Minister said adding that the list presently maintained by the Department is of 2002.
