Itanagar:The BJP has demanded calling off the entire Commission team in the alleged paper leakage issue of Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive (APPSCC) (Mains) examination 2014 held last September.
The report of the alleged leakage of General Studies examination, conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Com-mission(APPSC), caused huge protest in the state. Over 600 civil service aspirants started a series of democratic agitations which was supported by various organisations.
Taking opportunity of present crisis that persists in the state politics, the BJP has expressed its solidarity towards the civil service aspirant Ujum Perying, who is on a 72-hour hunger strike since January 8.
BJP spokesperson and former minister R K Khirmey on Saturday informed that his party will meet Governor Lt Gen (retd) Nirbhay Sharma soon and place their demand to call off the Chairman of the Com-mission and its Members in the paper leakage case and form a new commission to hold fresh exam.
The district admini-stration has engaged police personnel to monitor the situation and a medical team with an ambulance has been stationed to constantly watch Ujum’s health at Tennis Court in the Indira Gandhi Park here.
There are three members in the Commission at present in place of four. One post is vacant.
Khirmey said, ‘Whatever Ms Perying is doing it is for a noble cause. She wants to bring transparency into the Commission. The BJP fully supports Ms Perying and the APPSC Consultative Committee in their fight for justice and for fair recruitment process’, he said.The BJP will raise the issue in the coming assembly session, he informed.
Regarding installing of power metres the party said it should be installed from ‘top to bottom’. The party said the exorbitant rate of power unit charges is hampering the people and urged the Power Department to look into the matter. (UNI)
