Kohima:When the media war continues by both the ruling and dissident groups with s and counter allega-tions, the dissident NPF Legislature Party has cited some of the reasons why it decided to change the leadership of T. R. Zeliang.
In a release on Sunday, the dissident NPF Legis-lature Party Spokesman Imkong L. Imchen summed up some of the many reasons why T. R. Zeliang’s leadership has failed and why he has been voted out.
Imkong alleged that, even after sufficient time has been given to T. R. Zeliang, he has totally failed to provide efficient admi-nistration and run the affairs of the State Government in an effective manner. The Government has been faced with crisis after crisis and instability had become the order of the day. Blatant and random appointment of elected members as Advi-sers and Chairmen of vari-ous Government agencies by deviating from the rules of executive business and making a mockery of Government norms and also undermining the elected members.
On the disqualification of the BJP MLAs under Zeliang’s leadership, Im-chen said he has anta-gonized the BJP and the NDA Government and it has burned the bridges that have been built between the NPF and the DAN Government with the NDA for the past ten years. The peace process has been put on the backburner by the present leadership and the political stand of the NPF has changed. Wrong deci-sions and wrong policy with regard to the exploration of oil and natural resources has also adversely impacted the State especially the civil societies and the citizens of the State.
Imchen further alleged that incorporation of the NCP, which is not a pre-poll alliance of the DAN coalition into the DAN ministry, was done without the clearance of the DAN Coordination Committee and done in arbitrary manner. Till date there has not been a single meeting of the DAN Coordination Committee and there has not been any cohesiveness within the DAN ever since the change of guard. Only after TR Zeliang had lost the support of the majority of the members was the DAN meeting called on 9th January, 2015.
NPF Legislature Party said these are just some of the many failures of the present leadership and there are several more failures like financial mismanagement and corruption.(UNI)
