Montreal: Force India drivers will look to make the optimum use of the straight-line speed of their cars and finish among the points in the Formula One Canadian Grand Prix to be held at the pacy Gilles-Villeneuve circuit here over the weekend.

The 4.3 km circuit comprises long stretches that makes the straight-line speed of the car critical and the frequent chicanes bringing the driver’s skills to the fore.

Force India, who finished ninth and tenth last year, is confident of bettering its performance this time around.

“Looking back on Monaco (last race), It was great to see Force India back in the points.

The six points we scored will be important for our battle in the world championship because the teams around us are all very competitive.

“We have a real fight (with mid-grid teams) on our hands now if we want to catch Sauber and we must continue working hard to maintain our advantage over Toro Rosso,” said Team Principal Vijay Mallya, whose team has moved to seventh place in the Constructor’s Championship after Adrian Sutil’s seventh-place finish in the Monaco Grand Prix.
