SHILLONG: The forthcoming Assembly session is expected to be stormy with the Opposition NCP raring to gave a go at the Mukul Sangma-led MUA government on host of issues ranging from controversial four-laning of the Umiam Jorabat road and law and order situation in Garo Hills to problems pertaining to education sector and steps taken to rehabilitate flood-hit people of Garo Hills.

“I shall raise the four-laning issue,” the Opposition leader in the State Assembly Conrad K Sangma said on Monday adding “We will question the Government on the status of the promises made on the floor of the House during the last session”.

It may be mentioned that the five-day autumn session of the assembly is scheduled to begin from September 9.

Taking a dig at the State Government for calling such a short session, Sangma said, “This Government is scared to call a longer Assembly session.”
