SHILLONG: In view of KSU’s proposed sit-in demonstration at the office of the Deputy Commissioner on January 30, the Ri Bhoi district administration has imposed Section 144 CrPC prohibiting assembly of five or more persons at the premises, carrying of any weapons or other articles like sticks, stones etc which may endanger the public etc.
The order has come into force with immediate effect and will continue to remain so until further orders.
The KSU North Khasi Hills unit has called for a sit-in demonstration in protest against the apathy of the State Government towards the plight of the resident of Umsder (Block II).
