Centre plans 1400km road in North East

SHILLONG: Union Minister of state for Roads Transport and Highways Pon Radhakrishnan has said the Central government is targeting construction of 1400km road in the land-locked Northeastern region.
“The government is targeting construction of 1400 km of road during 2014-15 at a total investment of Rs. 13,000 crore,” he told reporters here on Thursday.
Further, he said the government also plans to create 2000 km of road in 2015-16 at a cost of Rs 18,000 crore and the subsequent fiscal 2300 km at an investment of Rs 21,000 crore.
