SHILLONG: The newly-appointed Meghalaya DGP Rajiv Mehta, who is currently posted in Delhi, is likely to assume charge on February 9.
Sources said that the reason for delay in assuming charge as the Meghalaya DGP is that the police official’s release order is yet to be signed by the Union Home Minister.
Mehta replaces PJP  Hanaman who retired on December 31 and will take charge from  SK Jain.
