Hek joining BJP?

At a time when it is often heard on the grapevine that he might return to BJP, Health and Family welfare Minister AL Hek on Saturday met senior BJP leader and Union Minister of  State for  Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises  Giriraj Singh at Hotel Pinewood in the city.  Later, when some journalists asked the Union Minister about Hek’s visit, he refused to give direct reply. To a question if BJP would accept Hek if he returns to the party, the Union minister said, “When that time comes I will tell you.”

BJP leaders on dais

Though the visit of Union Minister Giriraj Singh to Meghalaya was official one, several State BJP leaders were seen accompanying him on the first day of his visit on Saturday. At the press conference he was seen flanked by the State BJP president Khlur Sing Lyngdoh and the general secretary Dipayan Chakraborty. Not a single official of his ministry was seen on the dais. They preferred to sit with others.  “What is the problem? This is not a review meeting and so I have made them (BJP leaders) to sit here,” he said when asked why the BJP leaders were accompanying him during his official visit to the state.

Apology

Union Minister of  State for   Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises  and BJP MP  Giriraj Singh on Saturday tendered an apology for his party’s ‘immigrants’ goof-up. “Mistakes happen and that is why I am apologizing,” Singh told reporters in Shillong  on Saturday.  It may be mentioned that  the BJP’s Vision Document for Delhi polls in a section said: “North eastern immigrants to be protected.”(By Our Reporter)
