Two held for attempt to murder
Police arrested Shantisar Kharkrang (20) and Skhemborlang Jana (25) in connection with an attempt to commit murder case under Nongpoh PS.
Man found unconscious
On Feb 9, Som Dorjee (35) was found lying at Iewmawlong, Shillong and was shifted to CH Shillong.
ATM fraud
Nirwal S Nongbri lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on Feb 9, he received a phone call from one Ramesh Sarkar who asked for his ATM details. Later, he received an SMS that Rs.24,000 has been debited from his account.
Assault
On Feb 11 around 12:30 am, one Bijosh Sangma (36) assaulted his wife, mother-in-law and father-in-law at in their house at Rangsakona, Byrnihat, Ri Bhoi. As a result, his mother-in-law sustained injuries and was removed to CH Shillong for treatment. Matter is under enquiry.
On Jan 11 at about 9:30 am, one Ratneswar Hajong attacked Gauri Hajong with a dagger at Ampati, South West Garo Hills. Victim sustained injuries and was admitted at CHC Ampati.
On Feb 9 around 11:55 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted Don Tympei (27) at Mawlai Tariang Petrol Pump, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Shillong.
Labourers held
On Feb 8 around 7.30 pm, a group of labourers quarreled amongst themselves at SAI Campus, NEHU, Mawlai, Shillong in which one of them Taraniu Kanch Rai (28) sustained injuries. In this connection, Police picked up two persons Living Sangma (23) and Andrew Sangma (19) and took them to Mawlai PS.
Assault, snatching
Macdonald K Lyngdoh lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on Feb 8 around 8:30 pm, unidentified Police personnel detained, assaulted him and snatched his cell-phone at Polo Bazar, Shillong.
Trespass, threat
Najing Sangma lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on Jan 16, 17 & Feb 3, 2015, one Kaljing Sangma armed with a dagger trespassed into his house at Boldakgre (WGH) and threatened him with dire consequences.
Theft
Edmund Kharkongor lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on Feb 7, unknown miscreants stole 10 rolls of barbed wire valued around Rs.40,000 from a construction site at Mukhla Nongrim Sahbsein in West Jaintia Hills.
Vehicle theft
On Feb 10 around 6 am, unknown miscreants stole one Maruti Alto car (ML-05J-7082) belonging to Hira Sinha from Madanrting, Shillong. Later, at about 11 am, the car was recovered from Jaiaw, Shillong.
On Feb 9 night, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08D-0607) belonging to Predinbirth Sangma from Upper Akonggre, West Garo Hills.
