Hazarika’s birthday celebrated

Guwahati: The 85th birthday of singing legend Bhupen Hazarika was on Thursday celebrated throughout the state.

Prominent artistes including Zubeen Garg, Pulak Banerjee, Moloya Goswami rendered songs of the Dadasaheb Phalke award winner at the Indian Tea Association cultural complex here.

All Assam Students Union in a separate function held at the banks of the Dighalipukhuri recalled the contribution of Hazarika, who is currently being treated at the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai, cut a cake at the ICU, family sources said.

Doctors attending to him at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital said the Dada Saheb Phalke Award winner’s health has shown remarkable improvement. (PTI)
