NEHU campus at Wahiajer: NGO urges Laloo to expedite process

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya People’s United Front on Monday urged Education Minister RC Laloo to expedite the process of setting up of NEHU campus at Wahiajer in West Jaintia Hills.
Speaking to media persons after a meeting with Laloo, MPUF president, D Wanmi Laloo said that the minister has asked the delegation to take up the matter with NEHU vice chancellor with a request to start the campus at the earliest even in a rented facility for the time being.
Laloo also assured to discuss the matter with NEHU soon.
The NGO would also write a letter to the Ministry of Human Resource Development in this regard.
It may be mentioned that villagers of Wahiajer have already made available the land for the proposed NEHU campus.
