Nagaland Horticulture Institute bags award

Kohima: The Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH) of Nagaland has received the best Regional Exposure – Bio-Resource Award 2015 in the 2nd International Agri Horticulture Show (IAHS) held at College of Veterinary in Khanapara at Guwahati, for its varied activities towards the upliftment of horticulture.
According to an official release on Thursday, the IAHS was organised by Department of Agriculture, Government of Assam, in association with Assam Agriculture University and Indian Chamber of Commerce from February 10 to 14, which was formally inaugurated by Union Minister of Agriculture.
CIH participated in the show as an associate partner. The institute highlighted the activities being carried out as per the mandates of the Institute.
Horticulture crops available in NE region, folders and other publications on production technologies, package of practices PHM on fruits, flowers, vegetables and spices were displayed and distributed during the programme.
Quality planting material of major fruit crops propagated in the Institute, were also displayed.(UNI)
