Indian Railway set up road map to connect important location in Arunachal

Itanagar: After making the Itanagar Railway line functional by operating two trains – flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the 29th Statehood Day – Indian Railways is all set with a road map to connect all important locations in Arunachal Pradesh.
“While Balipara – Bhalukpong Railway track is complete awaiting trial run in the month of April next, proposal for connecting Parshuram Kund and Pasighat through Tezu is in the pipeline,” revealed Indian Railways General Manager R K Singh, who along with a team of railway officers, called on Chief Minister Nabam Tuki here this evening.
Singh also mentioned about Along – Silapathar- North Lakhimpur rail line besides informing the CM that the much delayed Bogeebeel Bridge project above the mighty Brahmaputra would be completed by December 2016.
He sought help from the state government on issues relating to land acquisition near the Naharlagun Railway Station to build a bridge over River Pachin to facilitate passengers.
The visiting GM also asked the state government to help them in identifying a suitable land for construction of railway guest house and office.
He further requested to facilitate periodical coordination meeting between the Railway and the state government agencies in order to clear pending issues.
Mr Tuki assured all possible assistance and said that any kind of development is always welcome in Arunachal Pradesh.
He appreciated the railway ministry for paying special attention to this landlocked state and hoped that soon all the district headquarters would be connected by rail links.
He gave a positive nod for identifying land sought for guest house and rail office at Itanagar apart from assuring to clear the land issues hampering construction of bridge over Pachin River near Naharlagun railway station. (UNI)
