BSF organizes civic action programme, medical camp

TURA: A civic action programme cum medical camp was organized by 132 Battalion Border Security Force at Dabram Primary School Ground, Baghmara in South Garo Hills on Sunday.
The camp was inaugurated by Sudesh Kumar, IG, BSF Meghalaya Frontier, as the chief guest in presence of other BSF and government officials, nokmas, school students and the general public.
The camp was set up as part of the BSF’s golden jubilee celebrations this year.
A medical team led by Dr. Th. Gopeshwar Singh, Chief Medical Officer of 132 Bn BSF assisted by doctors from the National Rural Health Mission attended to over 200 patients and distributed free medicines to them.
Also, furniture, stationery, umbrellas and sports equipments were distributed to the school children of the area and umbrellas and portable hunter lights to the village defense parties of various villages of the area.
