Married woman raped
One married woman lodged a complaint at Mahendraganj PS that on February 26 at around 9 pm, while she was on her way home from Mahendraganj Bazar to Jolapara (SWGH) one Md. Nojural Sheik waylaid and raped her in the paddy field.
ATM vandalised
One Ashim Dey lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that between February 27 & February 28, unknown miscreants vandalized the SBI ATM at Servel Complex, Central Nongrim Hills, Shillong with an intention to commit theft.
PDS anomalies
One Riper Dohtdong and others from Mawripih village (EKH) lodged a complaint at Laban PS that since last 13 months, the PDS dealer of the village did not distribute the PDS items citing that the matter should be decided by the Mawripih (A) Village Committee. Later when the PDS rice was distributed it was of inferior quality.
NGT ban violation
On March 1 at around 3 pm, police conducted vehicle checking at Porsohsat (WKH) and detected three coal laden trucks AS-01EC-5769 driven by Lastmonday Lyngkhoi, ES-01EC-2248 driven by Harash Pariong and AS-01AC-7831 driven by Brightstar Myrthong while transporting coal in violation of NGT order. The drivers were arrested and the trucks seized.
Bolero stolen
On March 1, unknown miscreants stole one Bolero (AS-01CC-1507) belonging to Kul Bahadur Karki from 11th Mile, Mawsmai (RB).
Mobile thefts
One Ibarisuklin Biam lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on Feb 27, her mobile phone was stolen by unknown persons while travelling in a local taxi (number not known) from Dhanketi to Police Bazar. In another case, one Hakabiang Lyngdoh lodged a complaint at Madanrting PS that on Feb 27 at around 6 pm, unknown miscreants stole her HTC cell phone at Mawblei.
Sexual harassment
On February 26 at around 5 pm, one Do Syngkrem sexually harassed his lady domestic help in his rented house at Dongmihsngi, Jowai (WJH).
Strangulation attempt
On February 21, one Shemborlang Dhar attempted to strangulate his mother Daiana Dhar and threatened the other family members with dire consequences in their residence at Nongrah, Lummarboh Block-III, Shillong.
