Speed-up hiring process: Teachers’ body

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Elementary Pre Service Trained Teachers Association (MEPSTTA) has urged the State Government to speed up the process of advertising the 700 plus vacant posts.
MEPSTAA publicity secretary, Regiful Thongni said that over 300 teachers who have completed the Diploma in Elementary Education (DSEL) are eligible to apply for the various vacancies.
“As per NCTE norms, the State Government should appoint the teachers who have completed the DSEL in these 700 vacant posts.
“At present, untrained adhoc and contractual teachers are occupying the various vacant posts,” the MEPSTTA publicity secretary said.
